Valperlon Wuudagu Bauxite

Project Overview

TSA is engaged by Valperlon to construct a barge loading facility and provide barge loading services for their Wuudagu Bauxite Project. The Project is located 15 km west of Kalumburu in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.

The Project areas are located outside of environmentally and culturally sensitive areas with strong support from local community. Historical resource of 120Mt with additional exploration upside. Project is close to existing infrastructure including access roads, airport facilities, barge landings and the town of Kalumburu. Logistical advantages over other Projects given close proximity to the coast and end user markets in China, India and the Middle East.

Scope of Work

In support of Valperlons definitive feasibility study, TSA has been contracted to provide transhipment consultancy services, which includes reviewing several options for the location of a barge loading facility (BLF), associated marine infrastructure, and anchorage locations for their Project. TSA will support Valperlon to prepare a conceptual design for the BLF that will assist with obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals for construction and transhipment operations.

TSA has signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Valperlon to design, supply and install the BLF and provide transhipment services at Wuudagu Bauxite Project Port. This will allow Valperlon to construct and operate a bespoke bulk ship loading solution, specifically designed for their Project, and facilitate the bulk export of a range of cargo sizes up to Minicape / Cape vessels (180,000DWT) utilising a Floating Crane operated by TSA.

TSA is proud to be working with Valperlon on the Wuudagu Project as their chosen experienced transhipment services provider.
